3 O’Clock Socks is operated by Dan Garfinkel. The app reminds you to change your socks and keeps track of your daily check-ins. It does not require you to provide a name or email address.
What stays on your phone
Your check-ins, streak, reminder preferences, and a queue of unsynced activity are stored locally. Notifications are scheduled on your iPhone. Your daily ritual continues to work offline.
What the app sends
When cloud measurement is available, the app creates an anonymous installation identity with Supabase and syncs check-in dates and times, time zone, app version, reminder settings and permission status, confirmation source, and activity such as app opens, reminder opens, snoozes, confirmations, share-drawer opens, completed share actions, and Invite friends opens. We do not record recipients, the selected sharing app, or shared content. A notification message identifier helps us understand which reminders people respond to.
These records are linked to an anonymous installation, not a verified person. We use them to operate the app and understand aggregate usage. We do not collect contacts, precise location, advertising identifiers, or an Apple push notification token. There are no advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking.
Supabase also records technical connection and request logs, including IP addresses, approximate location derived from IP addresses, and request/error information, to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service. These logs may be associated with an installation or account. The app does not request GPS or precise location access.
This website
The public pages do not use advertising trackers or a separate analytics service. Vercel hosts the website and processes connection information, such as IP addresses and requests, to deliver and secure it. The private administrator area uses essential sign-in cookies and Supabase authentication. If you email Support, we receive your email address and the message you send.
Website waitlist
If you join the waitlist, we store your name, email, selected interests (launch updates, early testing, or both), and signup time in Supabase. We use these details to contact you about your selections. Signing up does not automatically create an app account or send a TestFlight invitation. Only the administrator can view the list. We retain signups until you ask to leave or the list is no longer needed. To change preferences or request deletion, email dgarfink@gmail.com.
Service providers
We use Supabase for app data and authentication, and Vercel for website hosting. They process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Information may be processed outside your country.
Retention and deletion
App records do not have an automatic expiration date. They remain until you request deletion through the app or we remove them. Uninstalling the app does not itself request deletion of cloud records.
In the app, open Settings → Privacy → Delete my data. Choosing Delete my data disables reminders immediately. When cloud deletion succeeds, the app clears its local history. If you are offline, the deletion request remains pending until the app can connect.
Provider operational logs and backups follow the provider’s retention settings; deleting active app records does not necessarily erase those copies immediately.
